Competition is open to high school (including sixth form) students and/or youth groups or youth affiliated groups living in Cheshire only. Other counties or overseas entries will not be considered.
Entries must be received by August 16th 2010 and must only be entered by upload to YouTube and the link emailed to upbeat@cheshire.pnn.police.uk or via DVD/CD to Cheshire Police postal address at Corporate Communications, Clemonds Hey, Oakmere Road, Winsford, CW7 2UA.
You must record the following details on your video before your song:
- band/group name
- school/youth group
- age
All entries must be less than three minutes long not including the time recording your details. The recording can be in black and white or colour if in video. Audio versions will also be considered.
Upbeat will only use your personal details for the purposes of administering this competition and will not publish or provide them to anyone without your permission. The winner will be contacted prior to any publication to seek parental approval for publication of personal details. It is a condition of being confirmed as winner that personal details can be used for publicity.
Once uploaded to Cheshire Police Upbeat YouTube page, entries will remain on the channel at our discretion. Any entries containing abusive or discriminative lyrics will not be considered.
One person must be nominated to be the main point of contact in respect of videos submitted involving more than one person. By uploading your video to YouTube or submitting an entry on DVD/CD the point of contact is confirming the following:
- They are responsible for all parties agreement including stated ages.
- All information supplied is correct.
In uploading any entries to YouTube, you will be asked by YouTube to agree to a copyright agreement with YouTube.com.
This competition is not open to employees or contractors of Upbeat/Cheshire Constabulary any person directly or indirectly involved in Upbeat/Cheshire Constabulary or the running of the competition, or their direct family members.
There is no limit to the numbers of bands/groups who apply from any one school and applicants can enter as many times as they want.
A judging panel will be convened to select the winning entry. The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
All participants agree to the terms & conditions of the competition and the individual submitting the entry on behalf of group members or a solo artist must also agree to the terms & conditions in relation to the use of the YouTube channel.
Winners will be contacted personally by email from a .pnn address to authenticate contact.
The prize must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternatives.
Upbeat does not accept any responsibility for late entries due to the internet or postal service. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
Upbeat reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage if deemed necessary in its opinion or if circumstances arise outside of its control.
Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when entering this competition. This competition is administered by Upbeat as part of Cheshire Constabulary.
